Steps to Join NetSec IRC on XChat
- Step 1. Go to XChat -> Network List
- Step 2. Enter your nickname as well as second and third choices for in case your preferred nickname is taken or zombie disconnects.
- Step 3. Enter your username and real name too (probably not a good idea to use your actual real name).
- Step 4. In Networks list, click on Add. Name the new network, "NetSec".
- Step 5. Once the network is created, hit edit and add a new server using the add button.
- Step 6. The server is: irc.insecu.re/6697. "Use Global user information" should be ticked as well as "auto connect on startup".
- Step 7. "Use SSL for all servers on this network" and "Accept invalid ssl certificate" should also be ticked.
- Step 8. Under channels to join, enter #school. No nickserv or server password.
